The first day starts with a pick up from your hotel at 4am then we head to the Ollantaytambo train station where we will depart at 6:10am to the km 104 site where we will begin our hike. On the way you will see spectacular views of farmlands, corn, snow-capped mountains and the sacred Urubamba River.
Once at km 104 we will provide you with snacks and take a group photo before visiting the first Inca site. Afterwards you will walk for 3 hours until you reach the second most beautiful Inca archaeological site on the way (Wiñayhuayña) at 2600m /8500 feet; at this Inca site you have the opportunity to see an elaborate water fountain, temples, some agricultural products and terraces which offers us the perfect opportunity to learn about the history of the Incas. Then you will be provided with snacks and an organic lunch.
We will continue our hike for 1 hour to the Sun Gate or Intipunku, to catch our first glimpse of the lost city of the Incas, a breathtaking sight that you will enjoy for the first time just like the classic Inca Trail hikers.
From the Sun Gate it is another 1 hour hill hike to Machu Picchu, on the way we will have breathtaking views. This route gives us the unique opportunity to visit the almost empty city perfect for taking photos. Then take the bus to Aguas Calientes, have dinner at a local restaurant and spend the night in a 3 star hotel.
Dinner is served in the best restaurants in town, the hotel is also located in the best exclusive spot with private bathrooms and hot showers and beautiful views.
